
Assam’s Mahasweta clinches title:
Guwahati, Dec 16: After a long gap, one Assam girl Mahasweta Batsallya won the title in the National School Games Table Tennis Championship.
Mahasweta won the U-14 girls’ title in the National School Games which was held at Aizwal from December 11 to 14.
In the girls singles final, Mahasweta, a student of the Anand Academy, Dispur, defeated Srenaj Chipia of Gujarat 4-3. However, Assam girls’ team went down to Gujarat in the title clash 2-3.
In the boys section, Assam could not do well in both U-14 and U-17 groups as the state boys were eliminated from the pre-quarter final and the quarter final stages.
