Tripura in strong position against Kerala:
Agartala, Dec 1: Kerala's batting woes continued as Tripura bowled them out in 76.1 overs for 179 on the first day of the four-day Ranji Trophy Plate Group A fourth-round league match at Maharaja Bir Bikram College Stadium here on Saturday.
This is the third time in four matches that Kerala have been bowled out inside the first day. The only time they survived the first day, Sreekumar Nair scored a triple-century for them.
Vineet Jain, Tripura's right-arm opening bowler, took four wickets, while Jayanta Debnath, the off-break bowler, took three. Nair was Tripura's top-scorer with 30.
At stumps on the first day, Tripura had made a steady start, scoring 27 without loss.
