Indian Oil ITF Junior Tennis

Angelika, Adil win ITF titles:

Guwahati, Nov 30: Top seed Angelika Aliev of Israel and second seed Adil Hakeem of Australia clinched the girls and boys titles respectively in the Indian Oil-ITF World Junior Ranking Tennis Championship which concluded at the All Assam Tennis Association complex here on Friday.

In the boy’s final, Adil ground out a convincing 6-4, 6-1 victory over Lewicki Filip of Poland while in the girl’s title clash Angelika defeated her Azarbaizan counterpart Sevil Alieva 6-4, 6-2.

In the doubles finals, Polish pair Stefaniak Piotr and Majchrowicz earned a facile 6-4, 6-1 victory against Indian duo of Navin Sai and Shahbaz Khan 6-4, 6-1 for the boy’s crown while Starkova Valentina of Kazakistan partnering with Alieva Sevil of Azarbaizan rallied to beat Angelika and her country mate Skripnik Margarita 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Altogether 15 foreign players took part in the championship.
