Kokrajhar team wins:
Kokrajhar, Dec 1: The 8th Bodoland Martyrs Gold Cup Football Tournament got under way at the KDSA ground here on Saturday.
In the inaugural match, hosts Kokrajhar defeated West Bengal outfit BSC 7-0.
The inaugural match was totally dominated by the Kokrajhar team.
For the winners, Achinta Basumatary and Deniel Brahma scored two goals each while Dwithun Basumatary, Madra Basumatary and Jilen Brahma scored one goal each.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Speaker of BTC Reo Reoa Narzary while EM (Sports) Hitesh Basumatary was also present at the inaugural function.
Sixteen teams are taking part in the championship.
