Oct 30: Pasta and Pizza would be included in the menu for both India and Pakistan cricket teams when they arrive at the Nehru Stadium for the first ODI on November 5.
The BCCI has already sent the menu of both the teams for the match day and it would be same for both sides.
Generally both the teams reach the ground at least one and half hours before the start of the match. So the caterer engaged to provide food to the cricketers would have to start with the serving of breakfast.
Assam Cricket Association sources said according to the menu, toast with spreads (jam, honey or low fat cheese) would have to be served along with bread rolls, fruits (banana, watermelon, pineapple, apple), cereals and fluids like milk, coffee, tea and fruit juice at breakfast.
The lunch menu would have to include soup, steamed rice, steamed vegetables and salads, pasta, naan, bread, roti or bread rolls, grilled chicken pieces and fruit. If wanted, red meat like mutton cooked in little or no oil and grilled chicken could be served at lunch as an added variation.
If both the teams leave the city on the same day, the cricketers would hardly get time to take the meal. However, the ACA is considering keeping the post match menu ready. This would be a bit lighter and would comprise pasta or mini pizzas along with chicken wings or drumsticks.
Apart from this menu, coffee, tea and milk along with water and fruit juice would have to be served to the cricketers throughout the day. Fruits would also be part of it.
