
Oct 28: Manipuri runner 4th among Indian women
New Delhi: Th. Pashotleima Devi of Manipur finished fourth among Indian women in the Vodafone Delhi Half Marathon today.
She ran 84:42 min in the 21.097 km race to pocket 4,000 dollar as prize money in the third edition of the event which has total prize money of 1,60,000 dollar.
In the first edition of the event in 2005 when it was named Hutch Delhi Half Marathon, H. Sangini Devi from Manipur had won the race among Indian women, clocking 83:11 min.
Pashotleima had won women's Chennai Marathon held in Chennai on November 30, 2003.

Today, Kavita Raut (78:34 min) was first among Indian women while L Preethi Rao (80:38 min) and Vaishali Chatare (81:58 min) were second and third respectively.
Alemu Deriba of Ethiopia was overall first among women, clocking 70:30 min, ahead of Atsede Habtamu (70:36 min), also of Ethiopia, and Alice Timbilil (70:40 min) of Kenya.
In the men’s section, Rwanda’s Diudone Disi won in 60:43 min while Issac Macharia (60:48 min) of Kenya and Dickson Marwa Mkami (62:03 min) of Tanzania followed him in second and third respectively.
Defending champion Ram Singh Yadav finished first among Indian men, clocking 66:09 min, ahead of Deep Chand (66:10 min) and Mukesh Kumar (66:12 min).
Both men and women Indian winners got 2,500 dollar while second and third finishers pocketed 2,000 and 1,500 dollar respectively.
Overall first among men got 20,000 dollar while it was 18,500 for women overall winner. The overall second place finishers in both men and women categories pocketed 12,000 dollar while the third place finishers will be richer by 8,000 dollar.
