Manipur fail to qualify for pre-quarterfinals:
Srinagar/Jammu, May 31: Services qualified for the pre-quarterfinal from Cluster II after they held Manipur to a 2-2 draw at GGM Science College grounds at Jammu today.
Both the teams finished with equal points of five with one win and two draws each but Services had better goal average of plus eight while Manipur had plus five.
Services now play Tamil Nadu in the pre-quarter Final on Monday.
Nagaland held Orissa to a 2-2 draw in an inconsequential match of Cluster II played at Maulana Azad stadium at Jammu.
How Manipur missed out:
May 27: Manipur beat Orissa 7-2; Services beat Nagaland 8-0
May 29: Manipur drew Nagaland 0-0; Services drew Orissa 1-1
May 31: Nagaland drew Orissa 2-2; Manipur drew Services 2-2

Ranji Plate Division Match
Assam concede 147-run 1st innings lead:
Guwahati, Dec 3: Assam were all out for 259 in their first innings to concede a 147-run lead to Services on the third day of their four-day Ranji Plate Group A League encounter
at the Nehru Stadium here on Monday.
Resuming at 92 for 3 in reply of Services first innings total of 406, Assam never really got going, as the highest contribution in their innings came from Services, by the way of 59 extras.
The hosts folded their innings at 259 in 92 overs with opener S Suresh and wicket-keeper Rajdeep Das top-scoring with 49 each.
For Services, left-arm medium-pacer Rakesh Sharma took a fiver on debut for 82 and Arun Sharma and Ashish Mohanty got two wickets each.
At draw of stumps, Services were 83 for one in their second innings.

Ranji Plate Division Match
Assam on back foot against Services:
Guwahati, Dec 1: Poor fielding forced Asom to the back foot on the first day of the four-day Ranji Trophy Plate Group tie against Services at the Nehru Stadium on Saturday.
Electing to bat first and riding on a fine century by Tahir Khan, Services scored 272 for the loss of five wickets when stumps were drawn for the day.
The match is a crucial for Asom as they need a win to stay in the competition. But poor fielding, particularly in the first session, pushed the home team on the back foot on the first day.
Unless the remaining five wickets of the Services are the wiped off early on Sunday, it could be very difficult for Assam to earn full points from the match.
Tahir Khan, who opened the innings for Services, produced a splendid knock of 142 runs, which helped his side strongly placed at the draw of stumps on the first day.
Tahir’s 142 came off 254 balls with 19 boundaries. Tahir was also involved in two good partnerships with captain Yashpal Singh and vice captain Jasvir Singh during his stay at the wicket. Tahir and Yashpal added 83 runs for the fourth wicket while his partnership with Jasvir for the third wicket was worth 72 runs.
Of the five wickets that fell today, Krishna Das and Arlen Konwar bagged two wickets each while S Suresh picked up one.
Assam had so far played three matches. The team lost the first match against Gujarat and drew with Vidarbha in the second. Asom defeated Kerala in their last group match to earn full points from the game.

Ranji Trophy Plate Division Match
Nishant back in Assam team against Services:
Guwahati, Nov 28: Middle order batsman Nishant Bordoloi today returned to the state squad for the forthcoming Ranji Trophy tie against Services which is scheduled to be held in the city from December one.
Nishant, who was selected as the vice captain of the team, couldn’t play the last match against Kerala due to injury. Though he has been recalled, the selectors preferred not to drop any players from the squad which played against Kerala.
It may be mentioned here that Assam had so far played three matches in the ongoing Ranji Trophy tournament. The team lost the first match against Gujarat and drew with Vidarbha in the second. Asom defeated Kerala in their last group match to earn full points from the game.

Ranji Trophy Plate Division League
Tripura escape with a draw with Services:
Nov 6: Tripura escaped with a battling last-wicket draw against Services, finishing on 202 for 9 in their attempt to chase down 226 for a win on the final day of the four-day Ranji Trophy Plate Division League at Agartala today.
Hari Prasad, Services' opening bowler, took 4 for 50 and other bowlers chipped in with wickets but Services failed to take the last wicket.
Vineet Jain, with an unbeaten 3 from 36 balls, and Jayanta Debnath, with 13 from 37, added 25 valuable runs in 11.2 overs for the final wicket to save the hosts from defeat.
R Banik top-scored with 50 while R Dutta contributed 30 in Tripura second innings.
In the morning, Services began from overnight 308 for 7 and managed to score 321 before being bowled out with captain Yashpal Singh getting his tenth first-class hundred, to leave Tripura 226 for a win.
Tushar Saha was the main wrecker-in-chief for Tripura in Services second innings, taking 4 for 89 with his slow left-arm spin.
By virtue of the draw, Tripura got three points for taking first innings lead and Services one.

Services were 308 for seven when stumps were drawn on the third day with skipper Yaspal Singh remaining not out at 94 (198 balls, 4X8, 1X6) and Arun Sharma giving company.
On Day One, Tripura were in the drivers’ seat, bowling out Services for a paltry 102 and ending the day on 93 for one. But on the second day, the hosts batsmen had gifted their wickets to fold the first innings for 198.
