Assam concede 147-run 1st innings lead:
Guwahati, Dec 3: Assam were all out for 259 in their first innings to concede a 147-run lead to Services on the third day of their four-day Ranji Plate Group A League encounter
at the Nehru Stadium here on Monday.
Resuming at 92 for 3 in reply of Services first innings total of 406, Assam never really got going, as the highest contribution in their innings came from Services, by the way of 59 extras.
The hosts folded their innings at 259 in 92 overs with opener S Suresh and wicket-keeper Rajdeep Das top-scoring with 49 each.
For Services, left-arm medium-pacer Rakesh Sharma took a fiver on debut for 82 and Arun Sharma and Ashish Mohanty got two wickets each.
At draw of stumps, Services were 83 for one in their second innings.

Polly Umrigar (U-15) Trophy
Sikkim suffers defeat against Bengal:
Kolkata, Nov 27: Sikkim lost to Bengal by an innings and 133 runs in the Polly Umrigar (U-15) Trophy match on Tuesday.
With the win, Bengal have qualified for the knockout stage of the tournament.
Manpreet Singh scored 125 in the visitors’ second innings but that was not enough to save them.
On Monday, Avishek Raman (100 retd), Sandipan Das (118 retd) and Vivek Singh (118) had slammed centuries for Bengal.
Brief Scorecard:
Bengal 440/4 declared; Sikkim 94 and 213 (Manpreet Singh 125).

Polly Umrigar (East Zone) Tourney
Assam boys take lead:
Nov 26: Assam took slender first innings lead of 10 runs against Tripura in the Polly Umrigar Trophy under-15 East Zone Cricket Tournament on the second day at Maligaon Railway Stadium at Guwahati on Monday.
In reply to Tripura’s first innings total of 154, Assam were all out for 164. Rahul Hazarika was top scorer with 55.
In their second innings, Tripura were 81 for 1.
Nov 26: Assam took slender first innings lead of 10 runs against Tripura in the Polly Umrigar Trophy under-15 East Zone Cricket Tournament on the second day at Maligaon Railway Stadium at Guwahati on Monday.

Ranji Plate Group
Assam vs Vidarbha match drawn:
Nov 18: The Ranji Trophy Plate Group match between Assam and Vidarbha was declared drawn at the end of the fourth and final day at Maligaon Railway Stadium in Guwahati today.
Not a single ball was bowled on the second and third days because of rain and slushy ground conditions and the first day was disrupted by bad weather after only 29 overs had been bowled.
The fourth day today had a full day’s play but the match failed to produce any result. Both sides collected one point each from the drawn match.
Brief Scorecard:
Assam 1st innings: 216 all out in 83.4 overs; Vidarbha 1st innings 126/5 in 38 overs
Both the teams have lost their opening matches. While Assam lost to Gujarat in the away tie, Vidarbha had gone down to Kerala at home tie at Nagpur (Nov 3-6).
Assam now host Kerala from November 23-26.

Nov 18: Tripura lost to Gujarat by an innings and 72 runs in their four-day Ranji Trophy Plate Group match on the final day at the Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium at Motera near Ahmedabad today.
Hosts’ bowler Ashok Makda ripped through Tripura batting line up with impressive figures of 31.4-7-90-7.
Tripura, resuming at the overnight score of 154 for four, collapsed today at the total score of 282 in their
second innings, failing even to wipe out the first innings deficit of 354 runs.
Tripura, who needed another 200 runs to ask Gujarat to bat for the second time, however, collapsed in 110.4 overs when they resumed the innings today, adding just 128 runs to the overnight score of 154 for four.
Manoj Singh (73) and N Shetty (80) were the only two batsmen to resist the Gujarat bowling. Manoj's 73 was studded with ten 4s off 183 balls and in a stay of 223 minutes. Shetty's 80 had nine hits to the fence and came off 143 balls, in a stay of 206 minutes.
Gujarat, upon winning the toss on the opening day, had asked Tripura to bat and had bundled out the visitors for a paltry 116. Gujarat had declared their first innings at 470 for six thereby gaining a huge lead of 354 runs.
Captain Parthiv Patel had scored 158 runs while B D Thaker had remained not out on 154 in their first innings.
Gujarat now top Group A with 11 points having won all their two matches so far. They had beaten Assam by 248 runs in their earlier match from November 3 to 6 at Motera.
