Ranji Plate Division Group A Match

Assam vs Tripura tie starts Sunday:

Guwahati, Dec 8: Assam play their last Group A match in the Ranji Trophy Cricket Tournament against Tripura which gets under way at the Nehru Stadium on Sunday.

The match is crucial for both the sides as either team can still make to the semi-final stage of the tournament.

Assam are in second spot with 11 points from the same number of matches while Kerala and Tripura are jointly in the third spot bagging eight points each from four matches.

A simple first innings lead could take Assam to the semi-final but Tripura have no other alternative but to win the match to go into the semi-final stage.

Meanwhile, Assam made two changes in their squad that played the last few matches.

Wicket-keeper Rajdeep Das, who was injured, will be replaced by Amjad Ali while Gakul Sharma will take the place of another injured S Suresh.
