North East XI beaten 2-8 by Punjab and Sind Bank:
Nov 18: North East XI (Assam) lost 2-8 to Punjab and Sind Bank in the 44th Nehru Hockey tournament at Shivaji Stadium in New Delhi today.
For PSB, Vikramjit scored three goals in the 10th, 32nd and 47th minutes while team-mates Sarvanjit Singh (7th), Parminder Singh (31st), Gurvinder Singh (64th), Navpreet Singh (65th) and Kulwinder Singh (70th) found the target once.
For the North East side, Barna Das Barla (8th) and Helendro Singh (33rd) were the goal getters.
In other preliminary round matches, Border Security Force blanked Western Railway 3-0 and IHF (Under 21) downed Karnataka XI 2-1.

North East XI win:
Nov 17: Romen Kumar Singh struck thrice as North East XI (Assam) beat IHF (Under 16) 4-2 to advance into the next round of the 44th Nehru Hockey tournament at Shivaji Stadium here today.
Romen scored in the sixth, 58th and 60th minutes while team-mate Abung Singh added another in the 13th minute. For IHF, Manpreet Singh (26th) and Siddharth Shankar (69th) found the target.
