RN Tamchon Football

Wung United lift Ist RN Tamchon Trophy:

New Delhi, Dec 1: Wung United beat MSAD Ching-Tam, Manipur, 2-0 in the final to lift the first RN Tamchon memorial football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Saturday.

In a keenly contested match, Sochungmi Raleng and Themreishang scored one goal each. Both the goals were scored in the second half.

Sochungmi Raleng of Wung United with 14 goals was the highest scorer of the tournment.

Along with the trophy, Wung United was richer by Rs. one lakh. Ching-Tam was awarded Rs 50,000 while third-placed MZP (Mizo Zirlai Pawl) Mizoram got Rs. 30,000.

Former Manipur Chief Minister and now Rajya Sabha MP Rishang Keishing, who is also the senior most Parliamentarian in the country, gave away the prizes.

RN Tamchon Memorial Football

MZP clinch third position:

New Delhi, Nov 30: R.N. Tamchon North - East football tournament.30thNov,Delhi:
MZP (Mizo Zirlai Pawl), Mizoram beat Zillai club, Manipur by a solitary goal to clinch third spot at Ambedkar Stadium on Friday.

The match went into extra time after the regulation time failed to produce any goal. The lone goal for MZP was scored by Denilal Zuhuma.

RN Tamchon NE Football

Manipur’s Chingtam United in final:

New Delhi, Nov 27: Ajit Yaikhom’s brace helped Chingtam United, Manipur, beat Zillai Club, Manipur, 3-1 to enter the final of the RN Tamchon Football Tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Tuesday.

W. Bangkok netted the other goal for Chingtam United while Khwaminlianlal scored the lone goal for Zillai.

Door Darshan, Delhi, covered the semi-final match.

The second semi-final will be played on November 29 at 2:30 P.M. at Ambedkar Stadium between MZP (Mizo Zirlai Pawl), Mizoram, and Wung United (Tangkhuls).

RN Tamchon NE Football

MZP Mizoram in semi-finals:

New Delhi, Nov 26: Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP), Mizoram, routed Unikas (Manipur) 10-0 in a quarter-final match of R.N. Tamchon North-Eastern football tournament at Ambedkar Stadium here on Monday.

Danilal Dohoma (4), Laruntluanga (3), Malsawma and Ricky Lalrempianga (2) were the Mizo team’s scorers.

In another quarter-final, Wung United beat Kuki Students Organisation by a lone goal scored by Sochungmi Raleng.
